ESL Grammar - Tenses

ESL Grammar: FUTURE TENSE (4) – Future Tense vs. Present Tense

In this ESL grammar lesson, students choose the correct verb form (present tense or future tense) to complete sentences. Students must choose the correct verb form based on the context of the sentences.

ESL Grammar: Future Tense Overview

The future tense is used to talk about actions or events that will happen. It is often formed with “will” or “going to.” Here are some examples:

  • I will travel to Spain next summer.
  • She will start a new job next week.

ESL Grammar: Present Tense Overview

The present tense is used to talk about actions or events that are currently happening or are habitual. It is formed using the base form of the verb for regular actions. Here are some examples:

  • I travel to work by bus every day.
  • She works at a local café.

The English grammar lesson below reviews the present tense and future tense by having students choose the correct verb form in various sentences according to the context of the sentences. Our series of ESL grammar lessons on subjects and verbs introduce these concepts and reinforce them through helpful and instructive exercises.
